Accommodation
The Metropole Hotel was built in 1892 at an exciting time for Minehead. It was an exclusive hotel frequented by the wealthy including visiting maharajahs from India who came to play polo at Dunster. It was converted to flats in 1953. 34, Metropole Court is a very large two bedroom ground floor flat. It is accessed via a secure entrance at the front of the building through a grand hallway with sweeping staircase as a reminder of its illustrious past.
The largest bedroom has a superking size bed, wardrobe, dressing table and large screen TV. The second bedroom has two single beds and a chest of drawers. There is also one foldaway single bed which can be wheeled into either bedroom. The significant lounge, which was originally a dining room in the hotel, has two leather sofas, antique coffee table, dining table and chairs and large screen TV.
The kitchen contains an electric cooker and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and all associated self catering items. All of these rooms look out on to The Esplanade with spectacular views of the beach and the sea immediately opposite. The bathroom has a large corner bath and shower as well as WC and sink.
